CRAICLY STORIES - Our Story!
CRAICLY started with the simplest of beginnings - in a straw shed. A beautiful space, which one evening was filled with some story starved friends and acquaintances who wanted an unusual party. A story party.
CRAICLY has since travelled the island of Ireland, seeking out great - both grand and humble - diverse spaces to champion the wonder of telling, hearing and sharing stories with a community of people.
More than ever before - we need to celebrate the joy in simple human connection with private, digital free conversations. Let’s enjoy moments in curious spaces with stories to tell, and listen uninterrupted to the voices who share them.
Plus - rural Ireland rocks. We need to celebrate it and the people that live in it.
CRAICLY works independently on story projects popping up in interesting locations. Since the walls can’t talk, we find the people to do that for them. Then invite very worthy listeners along to enjoy an evening of fun, conversation, food & wine. Or tea and sandwiches - depending on the space!
You don’t have to tell a story to attend an event - the stories are pre-organised. You can expect a great space and some lovely conversation. And minimal phones…
Jane Gormley - Founder
Jane, an experienced storyteller and writer, founded CRAICLY in a direct response to the clear disconnect being experienced in a rapidly digitized world.
A lucky combination of being a story fanatic and of being based in rural Ireland - surrounded by beauty, heritage, history, mystery and fun… The Craic. There was a plethora of factors as to how CRAICLY came to life.
Struck by reports of a growing, global epidemic of loneliness it seemed an achievable contribution to create friendly events for people to get together and celebrate both people and place through storytelling. To experience and discuss real life, past and present. To do something real and non-digital. And the story themes are never ending!
CRAICLY is touring with Historic Houses of Ireland throughout 2025 with events planned in multiple private and open homes. CRAICLY is also attending many Irish Food Festivals to celebrate our food and farming heritage. Alongside this, we will launch a Nov / December 2025 campaign to celebration and champion our local rural independent shops. We will be collecting and publishing stories of “The Messages” - in our first, nationwide open call for a multi-location, synchronised storytelling evening!
Jane intends to keep touring and seeking out the Craic on this Island and is always looking for spaces to fill with stories and remind people to listen and enjoy.

We sell tickets and tell our community of subscribers first before they go on general release. Sometimes you’ll see events on our site with no ticket link - that’s because the subscribers have first access. Just sign up, and then keep posted!
